Yay! It's October! My favorite month of the year! Not only does it bring Halloween, harvest, pumpkins, apples, and such...it also brings my birthday and the birthdays of some very special friends! Happy Birthday to Vicky, Teresa, and Greg...
I dragged out the boots and flannels and sweatshirts the other day and it was so nice and comforting to let myself be swallowed up in the warmth of my choice of garments. The leaves are starting to change and the geese are gathering up to head south for the winter.
As a second shift worker, the dew is usually burned off by the time I get up and around to start my regular job, but at night when I put the livestock away I can see it already starting to gather in the grass between the house and the barn.
I was reading online this morning we are finally going to have Hocus Pocus II to watch on the Disney Channel...which I'm not even sure I get...but I will have to make sure to figure that out before it airs because I may have to find someone else who does so I can sit back and watch the antics of the Sanderson Sisters.
What will I dress up as for Halloween this year? I hadn't dressed up in a long time but the last two years I made my appearance as a sexy cop with real handcuffs and gun and gypsy fortune teller with my real tarot cards. Maybe I'll be a character from one of my books...what do you all think?
I can't believe how much Smith and Wesson are growing. They have probably reached full-size by now and they are still no bigger than a medium-sized dog. I love how Oscar tries to herd them into the barn at night and usually ends up getting head butted. The house hen who is now a barn hen has taken to perching in the oak tree until bedtime, then joins the rest of the flock of little peeps in the barn with Smith and Wesson and Pops. Wesson is starting to display the need for a little girlfriend. Once I find the perfect mate, I think I will call her Glock!
Tell me...what do you like about October? Or what is your favorite month of the year?
Until next time...happy haunting friends...
